Nice neighborhood and safe. Biggest concern is how fake they are with wanting to reduce carbon emissions. They do nothing to actually reduce it except say 'they are going to", install a few solar panels, and say "yay look at us." They have zero EV chargers in the entire city except for the privately owned ones people buy. They even still don't have a ban on Styrofoam, an extremely terrible and toxic product to the environment. I've heard their meetings before and their concern to public chargers is the don't want "outsiders". All of their surrounding cities have taken progressive measures on actually reducing harmful waste to the environment, there's no excuses to why they don't do anything.
I grew up here in the 2000s. There's so much I loved about going to school and living here. I love the community feel and all of the fun activities. There's an annual harvest festival, a 4th of July parade, Christmas tree lighting, etc. I think its just a really fun place for kids to grow up. It's also a very affluent area and now more than ever very inaccessible for the vast majority of the population. And I do think there are glaring issues with diversity & discrimination. Kids here grow up very sheltered. Overall, mixed feelings.
I'm only 11 years old, but I have lived here for more than 7 years and has really been a welcoming community for me! It welcomed me well in preschool, I went to Wildwood school and I can strongly say that all the teachers were very friendly and nice. I have also made a ton of friends throughout the years! I think that my experience in Piedmont has been very good and I have really enjoyed living here and hope to keep living here throughout the years.
