Pickerington isn't a super exciting place but it's nice and relatively clean, and close enough to Columbus that if you're looking for more exciting things to do it's well within your ability to go out and do them. The population is generally upper-middle class but there is some socio-economic diversity, and racial diversity is on the rise but it is still primarily white. It's a relatively safe place and it's common to see kids playing out in their yards and walking in groups to their local pools or parks for an afternoon out of the house. We host things like the Violet Festival and we have holiday celebrations that keep the community engaged and invested with one another. All in all, it's a quiet but neat place to live.

Pickerington has the small town feel with the assets of a larger city. There are many options for shopping and dining - chains and family own establishments. They have beautiful, well maintained parks and playgrounds with tennis courts, shelters, walking paths and water features. There summer line up is fabulous for families and single people alike. There are movies in the park on Fridays, concerts in the park on Sundays and many festivals and parades to enjoy. The 1st Friday of every month in downtown Pickerington is something intriguing to enjoy from the Chocolate Hop to the Pet Fest. In the winter, sled down one of the many hills in the parks or enjoy ice skating at the rink created each winter across from the City Hall. Parks and Recreation keep a full line up of classes to take for tots to seniors.
Living in Pickerington Ohio is a very peaceful environment. The housing market is very stable. Theirs a lot of single family homes, which to me perpetrates working class families with morels and values. Not saying families living in apartments don't cray the same characteristics, but these set tone for the area. Theirs not much that I would change about the area, but the area is changing. Constantly their are developers purchasing farmers land and building more subdivisions.
