Philipsburg is a very small town with not a lot to offer. It's a rural community located in central Pennsylvania. The town has only a few grocery stores, a hand full of gas stations, two banks, and one small plaza consisting of a single clothing store and an auto parts store. The culture and diversity are lacking as well with the town being primarily composed of white middle-class residents who have resided there since birth. The immediate surrounding area brings comfort to most in the way of quiet peaceful woodlands. Outdoor recreation is very popular and enjoyed by most. Hunting and fishing in the multiple Pennsylvania State Game Lands and State Parks around the town is among the top outdoor activities.

Philipsburg is a quite little town in Central Pennsylvania that is perfect for a family. Only 20 minutes from Altoona or State College it is right in the center of all that is happening. It is a very family friendly area as there are many activities fir children to get involved in and meet new friends. However there is not much for a early adult to do in the way of nightlife, there are no real late night attractions to the town which is one of it's shortfalls. But all in all Philipsburg would not be bad place for one just starting out or someone working in State College that wants to be away from the hustle and bustle.
Philipsburg is a beautiful cozy small town! It is great for families and there is plenty of organizations and activities for many to get involved in. Philipsburg is also very close to Penn State University makes a great commute.
