Philippi doesn't have much to offer. There are a few restaurants, a few pharmacies, two gas stations, a public pool, and a couple of banks. Other than that, there isn't much. The schools don't have many good resources and the schools are understaffed. There isn't much excitement to go to school, because there's not much there.

I moved right outside of Philippi, WV at the end of 2010. I had grown up down south and at the time that I had moved here, I hated it. It was completely foreign to what I had been accustomed to. Even though I had felt this way in the beginning, the town has most certainly grown on me. Throughout the majority of the past decade of my life, I have planted my roots here and have begun to call it my home. The two biggest downfalls to this town, in my opinion, would have to be the lack of diversity and the large influx of drugs that our area has seen the past few years. Outside of those two things, I feel as if Philippi is a nice small town to live in.
I have lived in Philippi pretty much my entire life. It is a very small town where everyone knows everyone and Friday nights are for supporting the local high school football team and the marching band. Philippi is a great place to raise your kids because its safe here. To me, this is home and there is no where I'd rather be.
