Petersburg is a small town, with small town feel. People are friendly and community minded. It is a good place to raise children and have a family. I would like to see more businesses come into the town and stay.

It is a small community the is very historical towards the history of Abraham Lincoln right before he chose to become a politician and run for president. Though it is very small and not much to do, the background makes it worth living here.
Petersburg, Illinois has an old small town charm. Streets are lines of beautiful homes and large mature trees. The citizens are kind and welcoming, it really has a homey feel.
