Great small town community aspect. A considerably large amount of grassroots movements and events. A great local music and food scene. Quaint stores and charming people.
Peterborough is a very romantic looking town. It's very artsy, full of creative people, and full of good organic food stores. On the downside, it's a very small town, the job market is awful, there's not much here.
