The town of Perth Amboy is greatly unappreciated by its residents. The people are just as kind as anywhere else, and many are active members of the community who just want to see the best for their community. The hardworking citizens also have a place to spend their leisure time at the Five Corners shopping center downtown. Small businesses make up this shopping center and diversity shines through along with compassionate employees. Even though it may be surprising, the Perth Amboy community is no different than any other small town.

It is a nice place to live in but it is very expensive for the city I live in plus the cops are not very helpful to the residents. If you have a car you may end up getting a lot of tickets due to parking since they are not many places to park. My experience with the police in this town is that they harass the law biding citizens but are scared when it comes to doing their actual jobs. I had a situation where a deaf and mute woman was walking in Perth Amboy late at night and after I called the police the officer who came to the scene responded what did I expect him to do. They were willing to do nothing to help anyone but collect an easy paycheck for sitting on their rears. The cops in this town are not really there to protect the citizens but glorified meter maids. Do not expect any help from the police or compassion because they do not have either in their personas.
Perth Amboy is an overpopulated Hispanic community. There is an excessive amount of violence and poverty. I see the need for change in my local community, and I am determined to make a difference. In November 2017, I founded my own nonprofit organization, Baskets for the Needy. My goal is to provide grocery and personal care baskets to families in need. With the help of my local community, family, and friends, we have provided over sixty baskets to families in need for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and now Easter.
