We will be moving and I will miss PB. It is a great walkable town with plenty of things for kiddos to do whether they be pre-school age or teenagers. The restaurants and pool will be dearly missed by my family as well as the sports offerings for kids, Nedley's-the other ice cream shops. I will miss chuckling at our town for going out to Mr. Freeze when it is freezing in the spring. The area could be more economically and racially diverse, but it seems like people are trying. The schools are so good as are the music programs - and no need to drive far to get to Target or grocery stores or even hospitals, now. Advice: get involved in some sort of activity to meet new people-and if you are religious get involved with your church/synagogue/mosque etc. We learned the names and a little bit about the lives of our surrounding neighbors and it has been so helpful. In winters when it snows we shovel/plow each other's driveways and see others doing the same.
Perrysburg is a safe town. The K-12 education is phenomenal. Great school teachers. Support their sports. But it is white, white, white, white, white. Family friendly for whites. I am white. Lack of diversity makes it somewhat boring. And lots of bullying in the schools though there is a zero tolerance policy. White kids drinking, drugging, and pranking. Shallow people. Hard to find those of depth. The joke is that the most black people that are in Perrysburg are painted on the water tower. It is rather expensive to live here. And if a person is more diverse or not upper-middle class and rich, you and your children will have a hard time fitting in. People are friendly, but it is hard to make friends . Friendly on the surface. The downtown is great. Cute. And they try hard to have good activities. The prejudice is that the riff raff come from Toledo. Says more about PB than Toledo. This is why I give it three stars.
Overall, my experience living in Perrysburg has been positive. It is a safe area with little to no crime and is a tight-knit community. The schools here are great, as well. The teachers focus on giving the students the best possible experience and education. However, some members of the community can be hateful. There have been a plethora of times where hateful messages have been written on bathroom walls, you see them in people's yard signs, on car stickers, a little bit of everywhere. There is also a slight lack of diversity. Most people here are white, upper-class, cisgender and straight. A little more diversity and less hate would make this place an even better place to live. The good definitely outweighs the bad here, though.
