Perry is a very interesting town to say the least. I've lived here all my life and I wouldn't have choose to grow up anywhere else. The population here is roughly 10,000, which definitely isn't the biggest but also not the smallest. According to our very own niche.com, Perry is #29 in diversity in all of Iowa which definitely makes it different then your typical small town Iowa experience. Although most of Perry's High School sports team's have struggled for many years, the soccer team has always been extremely talented and other sports seem to be on the rise as well. There are many different food options in Perry including BBQ, Hispanic, Asian, and more! Perry is a very unique town with many art attractions, bike ride paths, and a nice down town area.
I liked the recreational center, its a great place for my son to go hang out while I workout. The town is very diverse and that is great as well but there are several people who disrespect the town by littering and not caring to clean up after themselves. There are several new restaurants in town that have opened, we have a movie theater and there are several miles of bike trail that are nice to utilized. The town has a clean and friendly hospital as well.
Small town, I enjoy that it is very diverse. Most people are friendly. Not much to do and very calm town which I enjoy.
