Since Iowa City is a university town, there's lots of things to do around town. Downtown Iowa City has a lot of great places to shop and eat. Additionally, the libraries here are fantastic and are great places to go to study. Iowa City is vibrant!
only a few areas within town that one would feel somewhat unsafe. generally, can go anyway at anytime without concern
Iowa City is the only place in Iowa I would live
