Peninsula, Ohio is a beautiful, small village located near Akron. We are actually part of the National Parks System. Surrounded by wilderness and beauty is a great way to live. For example, we have all sorts of animals literally in our yard on a daily basis. We have deer, foxes, racoons, coyotes, a bald eagle's nest just down the street, and so many others. Even a black bear has visited us!
A negative to living in Peninsula is our water situation. We do not have city water; rather, the villagers have either a cistern or a well. Where our home is situated, there is an inadequate water table, so we have a cistern into which we have our water delivered. The problem with this is that we actually run out of water, not infrequently. There is a mechanism to alert us when we have fewer than two thousand gallons of water, but it really doesn't work correctly. Last Christmas Eve, my mother was doing the dishes after dinner and **POOF!** no water!
I guess you take the good with the bad!

I like Peninsula because it is a small town so there is a sense of community. Peninsula is also very beautiful, with being right in a national park. Lastly, it is very close to other major cities, highways, and schools.
Best town with walking distance to the nation park! Very safe and quiet and has two great local restaurants.
