My neighborhood is one where any child growing up would want to be. Everyone keeps everyone well informed, we have annual Christmas light competitions, Easter egg hunts, hayrides during Christmas to have people gaze at all the beautiful lights. People are there for others and when someone in the neighborhood needs help because their house burned down, lost a loved one, or even just knows someone in need, our neighborhood steps up. My neighborhood is filled with people who are willing to make a difference.

We have lived in Pecan Grove since 1990. It is a very stable neighborhood. Very few homes have changed ownership on our street since we moved in. Our children grew up together and now our grandchildren play together. Many, many of the children who grew up here move back to raise their families. There are some families with 3 generations in the neighborhood. Pecan Grove replenishes itself with their families. We have our own wonderful volunteer fire department. The community has many great activities including an annual 4th of July fireworks display at the Country Club. The Christmas Light display has been voted the best in the Greater Houston area. I would not live anywhere else. We now have many diverse eateries in the area and many deliver.
It's very safe here, and there is easy access to a grocery store, a park and walking trail, restaurants/fast food places, and other services. People are relatively polite, and there is a dike that protected us from Hurrican Harvey in the area I live in. We did flood, but not as badly as other parts. Pecan Grove is just outside of Richmond, and isn't that far from the Brazos Shopping center
