I have lived all over New England and have lived near Boston and very remote. Paxton is a very small "bedroom' town, there is NO CRIME!! Whomever reported gangs is completely inaccurate. The town is on the upper middle class level, high property values, it is mostly white and neighbors actually wave to each other. The public school district is also very good, highly rated, compared to other MA districts. There are no restaurants besides the little local shops, the town is only 3 blocks long. Not unusual for a 'bedroom' New England town. Very nice town compared to many places I have lived that actually had 'crime' statistics. Nice parks and recreation for those who like to be out doors.
While the experience living and growing up here was okay, the school system was very lax in dealing with situations like bullying under the former administration. The lack of concern for the safety of the students was alarming to me as a student, and I ended up switching to a different local school, then switching out of the district altogether. I believe that the new administration has taken strides to improve this issue - though I, unfortunately, can't attest to this.
I feel that it is a safe environment however there is not much diversity. There isn't much to do in Paxton. There aren't any restaurants, nor fun places to go to. They do have a beautiful park that is perfect for taking pictures. Their annual tree lighting for Christmas is kind of poor and it seemed to be done with no effort. The neighbors are friendly and the environment is nice and quiet.
