I have lived all over New England and have lived near Boston and very remote. Paxton is a very small "bedroom' town, there is NO CRIME!! Whomever reported gangs is completely inaccurate. The town is on the upper middle class level, high property values, it is mostly white and neighbors actually wave to each other. The public school district is also very good, highly rated, compared to other MA districts. There are no restaurants besides the little local shops, the town is only 3 blocks long. Not unusual for a 'bedroom' New England town. Very nice town compared to many places I have lived that actually had 'crime' statistics. Nice parks and recreation for those who like to be out doors.
Paxton is a beautiful New England community. It has a small town common, a Protestant Church and a Catholic Church in the center of town. The people are friendly and neighbors tend to stop and chat or wave. There is little to no crime. There is a small general store and a dog groomer. It shares a border with Worcester which is a city with lots of activity. It also shares a border with Holden which has a large shopping center. You have privacy and quiet and are just a quick drive to activity. It has an excellent school system.
While the experience living and growing up here was okay, the school system was very lax in dealing with situations like bullying under the former administration. The lack of concern for the safety of the students was alarming to me as a student, and I ended up switching to a different local school, then switching out of the district altogether. I believe that the new administration has taken strides to improve this issue - though I, unfortunately, can't attest to this.
