A hometown native, Paterson is a fast- paced and busy city that always has events and activities for the children; from back to school events to fairs to movie nights in the park. I personally do not have any children, but I believe it is awesome that the community engages its youth in productivity and fun instead of the youth engaging into activities that can potentially get them in trouble. It takes a village to raise a child and Paterson definitely knows how to raise them!

The education system in Paterson requires much needed change. The education system is failing the students by employing teachers and staff who do not care about their jobs due to being severely underpaid by the school district. The school district focuses on making more schools than the quality of education which includes AP programs and much more. An example would be John F. Kennedy High School in Paterson, NJ. I see the children cutting classes throughout the day smoking weed being disruptive in the streets jumping on cars. Another example would be Harp Academy which is located at the abandoned Paterson Mall.
My experience with Paterson was a pleasant one. I was raised in a well-balanced neighborhood with personable people in my exterior. The schools I have attended were cultural and diverse, instilling me with respective principles to develop good manners. The atmosphere of schools opened opportunities for me to unravel my personality and rise to challenges of being a leader, interactive, studious, etc. Nonetheless, public places have been very accepting of many traditions and ethics, allowing people to liberally express themselves. Furthermore, volunteering allowed me to better my character. My community is very open-minded to the concept of volunteering and promotes it to have people become impactful and united. My safety is assured; I feel comfortable to go out and take advantage of the satisfying climate. I have convenient access to healthy food and am grateful for the easy availability of organic foods because it allows me to maintain a healthy diet and love its outcome on my body.
