I’ve been living in Pataskala, Ohio for almost eleven years now. I like the small town appearance of Pataskala; it has a hometown feel to it. There is not much going on here. We have the annual town fair in August, but it is the exact same thing every year. In the summer, there is a small firework show in one of the public parks. Although it is also the same every year, this is something quite enjoyable in my experience. The schools are not the best; I went to the public schools in the Southwest Licking Local School district for ten years. There is little diversity within the schools, and the Watkins Memorial High School building is practically falling apart.
Pataskala is a great town to live in. It is a safe place you can walk around town without worry. There are many restaurants including pizza, pasta, mexican, subs, breakfast and of course there is a Starbucks. We have good ice cream chains and even a local shop called dairy hut. None of these restaurants are too expensive. Pataskala is located 20 minutes away from Columbus. This allows many job opportunities. There are many neighborhoods and also houses with a more rural setting.
Pataskala is 20 minutes east of Columbus. I like to consider it the perfect distance away from a big city. You can easily get to downtown Columbus but you are away from the hustle and bustle of the big city life. Pataskala is quickly expanding and becoming larger and more populated but it still has a small town feel to it. People check on their neighbors and know them by first name bases. Pataskala is full of hard-working, kind individuals.
