I have lived in Passaic since 2002 and been connected to the city in some way all my life. Personally I love the city. The downtown area has a variety of stores, shops, eateries and areas to walk. Its very safe night or day.

The public school system has been improving steadily, with neighborhood K-8 schools, a Gifted and Talented school, Passaic High School, Prep Academy and Science Academy. There is also the Passaic Charter School.

There are several nice parks including Christopher Columbus, Pulaski and 3rd Ward Memorial Parks. A county park with a riverfront walk will be built in a few years adding to the recreational options in the city.

There is great diversity in the city. There are concentrations of Mexican and Central American residents, African Americans, Polish, Indian and Jewish Orthodox. This is also reflected in our restaurants and eateries which have a little something to offer for everyone.

My family is from Poland and I got used to living in a more clear surrounding filled with nature and peace. Passaic is a very chaotic (a bit dangerous) city, where I don’t feel fully safe. I know that the situation with crime statistics have changed over the past years and I see this city changing for better. I like to live surrounded by different diversities and I enjoy cultural food in restaurants in Passaic ( best Chinese food I had in my life). I wish I knew more people my abs but I don’t think there’s a lot of them living in my area.
Passaic is a very good place to live if you prefer a quiet atmosphere. The air is refreshing and the streets are clean. At downtown Passaic, there are many shops where you can go shopping with your family and also meet with your friends. At uptown Passaic, there are more houses and parks. Parents can play with their children in those parks and teenagers can also play ball with their friends. What could be improved is to fix potholes quicker instead of delaying it.
