We’ve lived in many different places over the years. We’ve lived in the Parsons area since 2011. The people and their values are the biggest draw for us. We attend St. Patrick’s and our kids go to the K thru 8 school there. It’s a great parish and school. If you are an active parent it is a great place to raise kids. The city has a lot for kids to do. Forest Park is a great place to walk, run or take the kids to play. They have free outdoor concerts in the summer. Parsons Rec Center has loads of programs and activities for children. It also has a good fitness center, gym and public pool. The library is great. The Housing is extremely affordable compared to anywhere else we’ve ever been in the country. There are several companies in town that are hiring. Crime is not an issue if you don’t engage in drug activity. We’ve always felt safe here.

Parsons is a small town of about 10,000 people with a community college (Labette Community College), an up-to-date hospital, a few manufacturing jobs, cheap housing, a few nice parks, and even a locally-owned coffee shop. This town has a long way to go in order to bring new families into our town, and there has been a struggle to keep the younger generations involved in positive activities, but recently new members of our chamber of commerce and other city committees have introduced fantastic plans to revamp the excitement and livelihood of our town's citizens. I am proud to call Parsons my hometown, and hope that it follows this direction of positive growth.
Parsons is my home town, and compared to how things were growing up, I believe things are changing for the better. Business are starting to branch out, in turn bringing more jobs to our small town. The only down side is Parsons is a small town, meaning everybody knows everybody, and everyone likes to think they know everyone else's business.
