I moved to here from India and oh my goodness, what a great experience I've had living here! The people are so friendly and the scenery is just so beautiful to wake up to. The bright sun on your face every day as you enjoy your morning coffee. The bread is being toasted as you take out the jelly from the shelf, spreading it on the bread knowing that you live in a beautiful city named Parkland. It sounds and feels like home. I just wish they put more side walks for humans to enjoy their daily dog walking and other sorts of traveling.
I moved to Parkland about 4 years ago from Germany. I started as a freshman at Marjory Stoneman Douglas and graduated in 2021. I had many different experiences living in Parkland, some good and some bad. The area is quite nice and I believe perfect for families. However, it does not have many things to do. I do think the people are really nice and there are many opportunities when it comes to wanting to do jobs like babysitting, dog sitting, or other small tasks. After living here for quite some time, I have seen many differences between living in Parkland and Germany. If I had to say which one I prefer, I would have to say Germany.
Parkland is a beautiful placed to raise a family. My problem is that everything is 10 times the normal amount of expense. Not only that, but there is not much to do. I am very grateful to have grown up in a great area that is not too far from the beach and has good schools, however I wish I was in a community that was less about money and more about fun. I wish I saw more trees than construction and more places to hang out with friends. Overall I am happy to have been raised here, but I will be raising my future family elsewhere.
