I love our seasons! The summer is always in the 90s and sunny! Even though you do get some major rain storms every once in a while, but that's just a part of it. The fall is absolutely beautiful when the colors of the leaves change and bonfires become a regular nightly activity. The winter doesn't get that cold but lately we have been getting snow a lot more. But you do have to watch out for the black ice that forms on the roads. The spring is when we get the most rain and when everyone starts to get more involved in their gardens which creates a lot of local, organic business which is very important to me.
Even though my neighborhood has had its downs, I still love where I live and I wouldn't move anywhere else. You can't beat how close you are to nature with the trails, waterfalls, and the mountains but still have the city right down the street along with all the local services if you need them! I believe where I live is better than where I used to live!
I like that we have a lot of local business- even to being a fast growing tourist town. I can go to my regular gas station and they all know me by name and I know theirs and end up spending almost an hour just talking to the friends I have there and the people I see everyday that stop in. I live in a very close-knit neighborhood and I like the feeling of being welcomed as a person, not just any strange customer. I really do like the location of where I live because you still have the mountain views and lakes, but at the same time, we're right down the street from what we need and the local fire department, police station, and hospitals. They aren't out of reach if we ever need them which makes everyone feel more safe.
