Established, "Suburban" neighborhood that is less than 4 miles to Penn State's University Park campus by multiple bicycle paths and routes. The neighborhood features multiple parks, a mature forest canopy, and a mixture of house sizes and styles to suit family needs. Easy access to the area's entertainment and shopping. The neighborhood is a frequent destination for joggers and many residents bicycle commute. The neighborhood is known for holiday night displays and is a great place to raise a family.
The area is a very positive, but competitive area to raise children. There are tons of activities and opportunities for kids to become involved and interact with each other in the area. There is always something interesting going on in town, or just around it. It revolves around the campus, and campus life.
Since this is a college town, there are drunk students and people, especially during event weekends like a football game. Sexual offenses is a common occurrence here, but police and the University are efficient and effective.
