It's the township that is at heart of Vegas--it's where the Strip with the major casinos is located, as well as UNLV. There are pockets of wealth, as well as abundant poverty--glittering lights and dreams, along with grim broken dreams--some of which have become nightmares. Despite the University, there isn't much of a 'university district,' although that is slowly changing--time will tell how much.
There is always something to do, at least, depending on what you are looking to do. Vegas, and thus Paradise, is very much tourism and entertainment/gambling oriented, and so education gets little attention, at least outside of the university level. If you are willing to work in tourism/customer service/etc, and are willing to stick with it and work your way up (either within the company, or by moving to bigger and better ones as you gain experience and reputation), it is possible to find good paying work with a min of education.
A very transient town, though some community can be found.

First, Paradise is not a city, it's an unincorporated town in Clark County, NV. It is also not a neighborhood but the town is full of neighborhoods (subdivisions). I've lived here 20 years and it has changed, a lot. The pros are that it's close to the airport and close to the strip. The cons are that crime has risen, with cars being broken into on a nightly basis, murders, domestic violence and more. New people are inconsiderate, allowing their dogs to bark repeatedly for hours, day and night. I believe that the cheap stores that have moved in have drawn a whole new demographic. We have at least two Goodwill stores and one Salvation Army, just in Silverado Ranch. Two Walmarts as well and far too many storage companies. Strip mall after strip mall. I've decided to move to another part of town. I miss the Las Vegas I knew before all these weird people moved in.
In the city of Paradise there is lots of activities or entertainment and the environment is cleaner than other certain areas. Graffiti is not seen commonly in this community, I used to see lots of graffiti when I lived in Henderson. I have made an observation that there aren't a lot of Hispanic or Latino supermarkets or people in the city of Paradise. If one thing could change in this specific part of town I would want to see more Latino businesses opened up. Mexican food cravings happen very often in my household but to satisfy these cravings we need run a twenty minute drive. Another thing I would like to see be improved in this area is more of a diversity. White people are usually seen in this area but seeing more diversity would be great.
