Since I was in grade school, I have lived in the town of Panama City Beach and have loved living here with the multitude of opportunities available to have fun. There’s vast land of beaches, a water park, a very nice outdoor shopping mall with a movie theatre, and tons of different restaurant options! This place is family friendly, but also perfect for adults and college kids with Club LaVela being the biggest club in the nation! What’s not to love! PCB has anything and everything, and I have loved being able to spend my youth years here.
I have lived here multiple times throughout my life. Were right on the gulf coast which is nice, there are several amenities for all ages. The downfall is the tourists for the locals. A lot of housing is now being turned into vacation rentals/air bnb's and the rental and buying market is so high here it is forcing the locals who have been here their whole lives out. I would like to see more locals caring about their community rather than making money.
I lived on the west end of PCB from 2010 to 2013 (Then I lived in the town of Panama City from 2013 to 2017). Back then, the roads were much better since the traffic wasn't bad and now traffic keeps getting worse and worse every year. Pier Park was really amazing and living at The Retreat (it was The Alexan when I lived there) was also amazing. The only thing I didn't enjoy about living in PCB was the horrendous traffic if you needed to get into town (since you had to go into Panama City to go to the dealership to get your car worked on). The housing market is abysmally high and the apartment pricing is atrociously high. There isn't really too much to do at night except party with the Spring Breakers or get drunk with the locals. It's a good town for having a little winter home for snow birds to stay at for a few months at a time, but long term living kind of gets depressing.
