Panama City Reviews
Rating 3.67 out of 5 200 reviews
Panama City is a fairly nice place to live! There are ample employment opportunities for young adults or teenagers just entering the workforce.
There are numerous schools, and higher education is readily available through FSU's local campus or through Gulf Coast State College.
There are numerous shopping choices, no shortage of quality restaurants, and a diverse set of bars to choose from. Some of the best cafes around, as well!
Panama City actually has a culture to it. It is a diverse area, with quite a few Filipino, Jamaican, and Russian immigrants. There is an arts center, many places for arts and crafts, ample live music, and a local symphony orchestra.
Furthermore, it is only a short drive to the beach! And Tallahassee isn't too far, either. But should you need to travel farther, Panama City does have a decent airport.
A huge downside: Cost of living is outrageous! You definitely pay for way more than what you'll get out of the area!

I've lived here since 2015 and the best part bout the city is the beach. If you work here, many industries are ran by the good Ole boy club. Meth central, there's more meth here than any other drugs and many are teetering on the edge of poverty and middle class. Pay is low, cost of living is extremely high. Finding an affordable place is tough if you make less than $50,000 which is most people. Healthcare sucks and the schools are behind apart from a few charter schools. If you are looking for a place to rent, you'll be disappointed. The homes are not worth buying since they are so expensive. Childcare is expensive and there are limited resources for single parents. If you are homeless, Goodluck, there aren't many resources for you. Please don't come here. Also home to Trumpers, Maga Republicans, and Ron Desatan loves to hang here with his base. Crime is high, career opportunities are low and health care options are limited. Don't come here.
The city of Panama City in Florida is nothing like how I would expect it. There are the luxurious beaches and condos to the west, the dangerous, devalued neighborhood to the east and the safe, relaxed locals up towards the north. Panama City is the heart of all of the diverse suburban neighborhoods. It is definitely the way locals get around and I liked that about Panama City, how everyone knows everybody. But, one thing I would change is the overall construction and how hurricanes is a scary natural disaster that unfortunately hits this area of the Panhandle.
