Palmyra Reviews
Rating 3.72 out of 5 43 reviews
Have lived in Palmyra for the last 4-ish years. It's small and pretty quiet, surrounded by farmland and a close distance to Hershey, Lebanon, and Lancaster.
I have lived in Palmyra ever since I was 7 years old. I attended Forge Road Elementary School. That was pretty cool because all my aunts and uncles went to that school. My family has lived local ever since my mother was born. My mothers parents have lived in Palmyra for 50+ years. It is a nice little town that is slowly growing. The schools are filled with lots of people that and great teachers. There are lots of park to take your family and pets to. Palmyra is located right in the middle of Hershey and Lebanon/Lancaster, so there is always something to do. We have a movie theater and bowling ally that you can go and have a night out. There are lots of cool shops within walking distance. I would say it is a pretty cool town.
Palmyra is a...small...town. There aren't too many other words to describe it, really. It's not cozy, well-kept, nicely situated, and the community isn't great. Not terrible--but not great. There are a relatively large amount of job offerings for minors and some business-minded individuals, but the average pay per employee is not high and neither are the working environments great. Especially for the minors, who are frequently laid-off without any warnings or real warrant for their removal. The insurance coverage for the area is also poor for a large variety of reasons. The roads are very cracked and not at all well-maintained, and many of them have been destroyed by the sinkholes that always seem to show up in the most inconvenient places. Overall, Palmyra is probably not the town you want to live in if you're considering moving into the area.
