Grew up here and have always lived here till now. Moving for school not because of the area. Although I can say is that city is definitely beautiful can be calm but can also be very fun! I recommend to those who have not been and are used to nice fresh weather to not come during February- August due to the extreme high temperatures. Overall super nice place to vacation on for those who plan to just cruise through the city! Especially for the summer it's a great vacation destination.
After 25 years here, I wish we could afford to leave. The smaller town feel of P.S. is long gone, as the city has sold its soul to the short-term vacation rental/tourist industry. Between short term vacation rentals and homes occupied by wealthy individuals on part time basis there is little, if any sense of “neighborhood”. P.S. is rapidly turning into a mini Phoenix or Orange County. Heavy traffic, rude aggressive drivers, very unpedestrian/bike friendly. Beware if you are thinking of buying a home as a full time residence. The summers used to be the best time of year when people left and even many businesses closed for the summer no longer. Just a bunch of angry, stressed-by-the-heat people rushing from one air conditioned location to the next.
Perfect Southern California living. The premiere desert resort. Tinseltown magic still exists here in a community that Hollywood created. Shops and restaurants and lux indoor/outdoor living in a spotless environment where golf and tennis rule year round. Minutes from San Diego, beach cities and Los Angeles. Mid-century architecture and interior design Mecca
