When I was a child it felt like a small town, now, we are one of the fastest growing cities in Central Florida with more people moving here every day.
Palm Bay, being right next to Melbourne and Melbourne beach, means you're only a twenty to thirty-minute drive from the beach max. The miles of unpaved roads previously referred to is off in the outskirts of the city where there are no homes or businesses and no reason to be out there unless you're the mudding off-roading type.
For someone my age there isn’t much to do unless you decide to drive to Orlando to enjoy yourself more since they have a variety of different things or places you can go to enjoy yourself.

Palm Bay is an ever evolving city. Over the past decade, I have witnessed first hand the growth in our economy and market. Entire plazas have been built around my family, numerous stores and rebooted utilities such as gas stations, grocery stores, and homes have all impacted our city and it’s beautification and growth. The change has been incredibly drastic and surprisingly rapid. It is extremely family friendly and is filled with safe and well preserved communities. Palm Bay is a tight knit and close quarters type of place. Traffic is almost never an issue in going to work or school. The roads are widely preserved and clean. The community overall is welcoming and diverse in many ethnicities, beliefs, and spoken languages. Overall, it has much potential in attracting more visitors and tourists. We are only 30 minutes from the beach and weather is beautiful and warm year round. Lastly, this is a great hub for starting small businesses and new families.
Palm Bay is a very diverse community. The Jamaican population is large and they’ve brought much of their culture with them. Initially when we moved into the neighborhood I was surprised to see not only our house but several of the neighbors had foreign fruit trees. Palm Bay is very family oriented. Walking in the evenings is a very common occurrence in my family as well as many of the neighbors. Children feel perfectly comfortable playing in the streets. While much of Florida’s housing market has begun to skyrocket Palm Bays prices remain reasonable for middle class families.
