I have been a Resident of Owings, MD for more than 17 years and the area is beautiful, peaceful, and safe. All three of my children were raised here and the family friendly atmosphere is awesome. The teachers and schools are the best. Plenty of places to eat and dine. I would like to see more retail establishments. Our Police, Firefighters and EMS do an exceptional job keeping our community safe.

There is not too much to do around here and takes approximately 30 minutes minimum in order to get to a decent sized town where you can find stuff to do.
The diversity here is pretty low, but people are friendly and it is a beautiful area surrounded with trees.
Generally safe. Several new restaurants and Wegman's have been build recently (Foundry Row). The future outdoor mall will help to have more convenient shopping options. The closest quality malls are currently 25 minutes away. Family-oriented, however the middle and high schools have very poor ratings.
