I moved to Oviedo Florida in 2017. We built our first home here in a gated community near A-rated schools. I attended Oviedo High School, which is known for Its academic performance. My school offered several AP classes and dual enrollment opportunities for me. In addition, Oviedo Is also becoming more urbanized. Historically, Oviedo was a small rural town near Orlando, FL. But, as land keeps developing, so does the community around it. There are several shops and restaurants along Mitchel Hammock rode and Alafaya. The Oviedo mall is even being remodeled to house hundreds of new modern-style apartments. There are many new medical facilities and daycare centers right around the corner. Oviedo, FL is definitely one of the best places to live in Florida!
The neighborhood I live in is a lovely gated community just off Aloma. It is very centralized and is very easy to find what you need in the many stores around. There is also a very vibrant social scene with many restaurants and fun local activities that are often advertised. The people are all fairly reserved but are kind if you require help. As a college student it is especially nice to live close to campus and the traffic is bearable.
As far as things being changed, I'd like to see more community events. Restaurants may host trivia nights and game nights but there are rarely community get-togethers. It would also be nice to see more community influx as though some areas are frequented it is quite disheartening to see good businesses neglected because of location.

After living the the area for over 6 years I have had a great time living here in Oviedo! There is plenty to do casually in the area and it is a short drive to major theme parks such as Disney and Universal along with the great entertainment of International Drive in the same distance as well! The town is super safe even at night with plenty of lighting and a very present police department. Sometimes it may get crowded during the usual rush hour times of the day but other than that I have had an excellent time living here and look forward to staying around for a long time!
