Oviedo is a suburb of Orlando and very close to UCF. The drive to the University takes about 20 minutes on a bad day. It is a growing area, with a lot of nice apartments being built. The majority of the homes are large single-family homes, but in some of the smaller neighborhoods, there are starter homes that people are more than willing to rent.

Being close to UCF provides us with everything we can think of to want, and even things we didn't know we wanted! There are restaurants that cater to every type of taste and offer every type of cuisine. There are nice parks to rest and recharge or even study under the trees. It is about an hour and a half from Daytona and the sandy beaches of the Atlantic, or if you prefer, go the other way and you have the beautiful gentle beaches of the Gulf. There's always something to do around this beautiful area, you won't be sorry you came here!

My experience with Oviedo has been nothing but positive! The schools surrounding the district are top of the line. The people as a whole are all quiet, hardworking, law abiding citizens who generally have much respect for each other. There are low crime rates all around the city, with any offence occurring being small, petty crimes. The area is growing, and quite soon, I think that my city will be well known across Florida.
Oviedo was a quaint town. It is now growing quickly. New stoplights appear often, various restaurants and shops open monthly. I have lived here my entire life and have enjoyed it for the most part. The University of Central Florida is nearby. This allows Oviedo to be a melting pot of different cultures and perspectives.
The town is safe with several police always easily spotted. There is not much nightlife. The two popular bars seem like they are catered to high schoolers - which is ironic because they are 18+ clubs.
My friends and I tend to get bored because of the lack of variety. There are not many diverse outdoor activities.
This is a great community for families with young children. I enjoyed growing up here, but am definitely eager to move and explore outside cultures and societies.
