Ouray is an amazing town that has a highly rated school and helps everyone get outdoors more. The town is on a hill and has the Colorado River running through it. Around 15 min. away from Ouray is a reservoir that you can swim, paddleboard, etc. in.
Ouray is a beautiful town with activities for outdoor types all year long. The town fluctuates with the tourist season and tourism keeps the town alive. Living as a local, it is a beautiful place with its positives and negatives. Everything is close together and you will often see people you know going about their daily lives in town. Lots of houses are either empty for vacation rentals or for summer homes and not many people can afford to live here. The restaurants are good but expensive and the closest big town is 40 minutes away. I personally love Ouray though, and I hope that those who come respect it as I do.
This is a quiet mountain town. There are no colleges here. I do distance learning or travel to seminars around the country.
Ouray is a beautiful mountain town located in Southwest Colorado. The outdoors are very accessible to anyone who enjoys pursuing any outdoor recreational activity. The people who live here are friendly and welcoming to the massive amount of tourists who visit every summer and winter. The cost of living here is very high compared to the rest of the country. The city also has the highest tax rate of anywhere in Colorado.
Quaint, small town. Excellent hiking, climbing, and camping. Easy access for winter sports such as cross-country skiing, back-country skiing, ice climbing, and snow shoeing. A short distance to Silverton, Durango, Telluride, and Montrose. Breathtaking views. Family friendly. Great jeeping trails. A wonderful natural hot springs (newly renovated) for day use.
