Oswego has a welcoming environment that I enjoy very much. Current students can easily make friends and build long-lasting friendships. However, Oswego is mostly cornfields and there is not much one can do around the town. I find myself visiting places like Target and Walmart a lot just to fool around and release boredom with my friends. I do like Downtown Oswego it has cute little shops and the local Oswego Public Library which recently went through renovations and is quite modern now. Oswego has a variety of places to dine in or take out food; the famous Portillo's and Giordano's is found in my small town and has impeccable taste.
I've moved to Oswego when I was five years old and have had a positive experience ever since! Everyone here is very nice and caring. From going to the schools, I've met so many of my close friends. Plus, it helped introduce me to different ethnicities, religions, and races. Overall, Oswego is a great town!
I've lived in Oswego for almost 8 years now. It depends where you live in Oswego though. If you can afford a more expensive house move to Churchill subdivision or hunt club. Some parks of Oswego are sketchy! From my experiences the sketchy parts of Oswego are Long Beach, or boulder hill subdivision. Anyways its about 50 minutes - 1 hour from the city. Overall the village is nice their are roughly 32,000 people living in the area. I would say it's a step down from Naperville, but a step up from Aurora. Great family friendly area! Totally recommend! :)
