Well it's a pretty basic small town with the same things, but still with that close sense of community. Like any small town we have main street or "downtown" where you find the niche little shops and places to eat. As a teenager, especially before being able to drive, that's where you go. You get a drink at The Village Grind, stop by the library to check-out books you are never gonna read, and go down to the creek to look at the graffiti and hang out. Sure Oswego isn't super unique, but its where I grew up. It's what I know, it's what I love. I love the people especially, for the most part it's really accepting and generally more Liberal then other small towns.
Oswego is a great rapidly developing town with various amounts of things to do. There are a lot of great communities that love to volunteer along with the great school districts that contribute a lot to helping the surrounding areas. A lot of activities for younger children keep them occupied like the beautiful parks, trampoline parks, and neighboring water parks that are only around 10 minutes away. It's a great town to live in and they are now developing the downtown area which is turning out to look really beautiful with all the little family-owned stores and boutique shops. It is a very safe area with the police station being very close to all of the schools. I wouldn't know too much about the nightlife but from what I've seen there's not really much going on at night except for a few bars and families going out to eat at the endless amounts of restaurants nearby. Driving can be a pain sometimes with traffic but it clears up pretty quickly Amazing town!!!
I truly enjoy the Oswego environment. It gives a small town feel while still feeling like you have more things to explore! Downtown Oswego has a good mix of modern and classic small town vibes depending on what mood you’re in. I would like to see less apartments built in the middle of downtown and more things for people to do.
