Ormond Beach is a nice, family-friendly city with a lot of fun activities and restaurants. The beach is gorgeous and overall it is a nice area to visit and safe to live in.
This city is like any other city - average. There are several parks and community centers in the area which are family friendly, but can be difficult to access if you are not close by. The schools are not high quality. Teachers are a hit or miss with their teaching, and there have been incidents with race-based violence in the past. At my school there is a vaping problem and kids do not put on their masks.
My favorite part about Ormond Beach is the peak of the Granada Bridge. If you are coming home from work after a long day or coming home from a vacation after a long weekend, the view of the ocean and Royal Floridian hotel brings you home.
It is a quiet city, and a great place to raise a family. However, it isn't diverse at all and it may take a little while for a minority citizen/family to become comfortable.
Ormond Beach is family friendly. I wish there was a Trader Joe's in the area and healthier restaurants.
Nice city, with nice people. Growing city, always creating beautiful new houses or shopping areas. You'll love this area if you want a quaint town next to a spring break city!
We own a home Beachside, 3 minute walk to ocean and 5 minute walk to Intercoastal. We have owned for 7 years, the city has everything we need. Nice grocery stores, big box stores, restaurants, churches. We are retirees. Plenty to do within a short ride. Very happy with our choce.
It's a really nice town. It's quiet at night so you don't have to worry about cars honking or anything like that. It's close to the beach as well so the commute there is not very long which is convenient during the summer. Libraries, town halls, shops and the like are also very nice and clean. It is also fairly safe not just during the day but at night as well. Definitely a family friendly town.
Ormond beach is a small town with a lot of great small businesses and restaurants. The beaches are beautiful, and they are free to access.
There is always something to do. The public school district has been wonderful for both my kids. One is an honor student and loves engineering and the other is special needs and thriving. They are both attending the same elementary school are getting the education I always wanted them to.
Ormond Beach is a relaxing suburb not too far from the hustle and bustle of Daytona Beach and the International Speedway. It's a great place to raise a family, or even live it up in retirement!
Close to the beach, friendly, small community. Great place to raise a family. Schools are close by and plenty of activities. The city really keeps up with their public parks.
Small town atmosphere with large town benefits nearby. Weather is really good..we have 3 seasons; Spring, Summer and Fall...no winter except for a couple of days in Jan-Feb just so we can wear our long pants, and one less warm month than South FL! Reasonable traffic, great medical, above avg public schools, the beach, plenty of golf courses, theater, music,..and MUCH more to do. So, come on down! 900 per day are moving to paradise (FL)! (and, NO state income tax!!
I absolutely love living in Ormond Beach, Florida. On the weekends my dad and I enjoy bringing my dog Mako to Starbucks along the beach to get a puppiccino before the sunrise. After watching and taking pictures of the sunrise Mako and I go across the street to grab the one in a kind Donnie's Doughnuts.
I love this city! We moved here in 1994 and I hope to retire and stay here. The city is growing, creating traffic and overtaking natural areas, but the city is making efforts to keep the small town atmosphere by designating natural park areas.
I really enjoy living here as it is relaxed and quieter/slower paced than Orlando which I lived in beforehand and this is even with being so close to Daytona Beach. My only concern is how much they are building up, adding more neighborhoods/ stores and tearing down more land, which is quite annoying to live in a state that is constantly building. Living in Ormond was a nice break from all the construction but it seems to be starting here too, which is unfortunate.
This is a beautiful town; close to the beach. There is terrific shopping and lots of activities. Wonderful place to live!
