I go to school here in Orion, I like it very much. Everyone knows each other and is very friendly and helpful. Also the whole community cares about the High School sports and supports everyone. It's really easy to get around town and it has some good food here. The only thing I'd like to see change is more food options so then people don't have to run downtown for something else. There are also local stores that can help give kids in school a job ad there are landscapers that do that as well. Everyone here helps each other if they need it.

Moving to Orion was supposed to be a dream for our family. Bringing two young sons into a small community we had very high hopes. However having lived here roughly 10 years now I can say this was false expectation. The children in this tow for the most part are entitled and full of self hate. They pick on one another and cause others to commit self harm. When you attempt to resolve with school administration or parents you become "That mom". Could re redo our choice and move elsewhere we absolutely would have.
I’ve lived in Orion my whole life, and this really is a great small town. Typically, small towns are given a bad rep for lack of diversity, popularity, gossip, etc. Although this stereotype may be true, with Orion it isn’t. This town has built me into the strong young woman I am today. I am beyond thankful for everything this small, tight-knit community has provided for not only me, but everyone within in. Orion, Illinois truly is a great hometown.
