I've been living in Omak for about 7 years now. I went to Omak High School and my experience wasn't that great. I think they did a very poor job at making all the students feel welcomed and they did a horrible job at preparing the students for college. I wish there were more things to do in Omak just so it would help kids stay out of trouble. Honestly, I feel like that's why a lot of kids turn to drugs because there's simply nothing to do.

Omak is a small rural town with a population less than 10,000. It was a busy town with a lot of jobs when logging was the norm, but all 3 mills closed and left over 2,500 people without jobs. The Omak area is well known for its Red Delicious Apples that are shipped worldwide. Now, these growers are planting grapes that are being sold to wineries in Northern California to be blended with local wines. Luckily, the Colville Confederated Tribes employ over 2,000 who work in their casino, which is a fun place to stop when you feel lucky and you want to enjoy fine dining as well as great music.
Small town! Everyone is very friendly here, but there is not much to do. I would love to see some more restaurants open up with outdoor seating.
