There are a few local stores in town. Food Center and Save A Lot are owned by the same people. There is a laundromat in town. My father owns an IT company, and he works with many people, both local and long distance. We have two restaurants, Archwood and Lori's. Lori's food is not quality, Archwood is the better restaurant. You can get everything a person "needs" in town, but I personally shop out of town, as we do not have department stores or even boutiques.

Racism is common among some groups, but most people do not care. Most people are friendly, and if you ever have a problem your neighbor will usually help you. When someone in the community gets a serious illness, or something similar happens, the community often will host events and supports that family.
I live in Appalachian Ohio. There are many poor people around, but most take pride in what they do have. Caldwell is a very safe town. Many people never lock their doors, and most guns are only kept for hunting purposes. The "best" place to live is at the top of Sunset. I myself live on the outskirts of town, and it's great. Quiet and nice neighbors.
