I have lived here for nearly two decades and have yet to experience any significant crimes. To me, that means that the police are monitoring the area to keep it a safe place for residents to live.
Living in the Lehigh Valley is a great place to grow as an individual. From job opportunities to home availability, the residents here can certainly thrive in everyday life, and I predict that our community will only continue to prosper. I've lived here since before I started kindergarten, and I'm thankful that my parents decided to own a home in this area.
The family owned restaurants are awesome
I must say we feel so safe in the area we are able to sit on the back deck with no worries of gun shots, or some coming up to you to rob you. The cops also drive by a few times a week so that makes us feel even safer.
Everywhere you turn you see different complexions, skin tones and everyone is smiling and friendly. Honestly even when you are driving and see someone walking by they wave hello. This was not something I was used to but definitely caught on quickly and it just makes me smile and feel relaxed.
There are two parks in walking distance and majority of the people in the are have children and pets. The community was rated one of the best to raise a family in. People in the area are great all the dogs actually get along and play together and the neighbors definitely look for each other and keep you posted on the neighborhood news. So if you went away for the weekend just be sure to asks any of your neighbors what happened in the area while you were gone and you are up to date! It's the coolest thing, we even pull in or out each others trash.
The overall experience in the area is GREAT! Again you are close but still far enough from everything. It's definitely quiet with many things to do. Just about every week my boyfriend and I discover or read about a new place to visit the following week. Many times we decide during the week where we will be traveling to on the weekend. If we had the opportunity to search for a home again we'd definitely purchase in this neighborhood. All the neighbors are friendly and look out for each other which is a huge plus! I'd say my neighborhood ranks extremely high compared to the country simple because within the last year that we have resided in the neighborhood it continues to grow and flourish. In the near future I see the neighborhood flourishing with the many new mini-strip malls being erected on nearly every main road in the area which means more money coming to the area
The houses in the area in which we chose to purchase are well maintained. Neighbors actually help each other out during the seasons. Rarely are there any vacant/abandoned properties unless a fellow neighbor has passed, a family has out grown their home or there were some empty nesters with too much house. The area is definitely a wonderful place to reside with good school districts, close to attractions such as Dorney Park and the Crayola Factory. In short the neighborhood is close to everything but yet still far enough to enjoy peace and quite.
Attractions in the area are big! You have the main three attractions the are is known for. One the Sands Casino which is a newly constructed Casino and Hotel. The next big long standing attraction is Dorney Park Six Flags rivalry. With the different rides, thrills and two parks for the price of one who wouldn't enjoy the fun for such a good price. The final attraction has been one of my favorites since I was a teacher the Crayola Factory! Who isn't familiar with the famous crayon and marker company. The attractions I just listed are I'm sure the main reasons tourists visit. You have one attraction that appeals to the adults- The Sands Casino & Hotel. An attraction for the children The Crayola Factory and finally an attraction that can be a family event Dorney Park! Who wouldn't want to visit the area.
There are walking paths, 2 parks, a YMCA & a fitness center all within walking distance of each other so you have your choose of what & how you want to work out. On a daily basis I see at least 5 people walking down my street. Sometimes the kids are riding bikes or roller skating while the parents are briskly walking behind. I myself have two dogs an American Bully (pit-bull) and a Shi-Tzu. Normally my boyfriend and I walk the dogs every other day. On the days we don't walk them we run around with them in the backyard or around the house (up & down the stairs). The great part about running around the house is if one of us get hurt we have a Hospital & Urgent Care Facility 4miles or less from our home.
