I love everything about Okemos! I grew up here and hope to raise my family here as well. The public schools are by far the best in Mid-Michigan. I felt extremely prepared to go into college and was well above many other students. The math classes I took in college were even easier than the ones I took at Okemos. In addition, it is very safe and clean. There are some good restaurants, my favorite being Dusty's, but this is an area I think they can improve in.

Really great parks, land preserves, pathways, schools, recreation programs and events. I feel very connected to my community!
I've lived in Okemos for over 10 years. I attended both middle school and high school and have been incredibly grateful for the educational experience. The neighborhoods are beautiful and the schools are top notch. MSU is essentially in our backyard and to be close to a University campus and around all of the college sports is amazing. The area is a wealthier area, so the cost of living is high but it is safe and I wouldn't think twice about walking around at night.
