Wonderful place to live. Lots of outdoor activities. Major resort, golf, spa and lots of retreat opportunities. Small town feel with a short proximity to major airports. Seeing more people discover this gem and moving from the city life.
it is a small hippy town surrounded by mountains and nature. None of the buildings is higher than 1 floor. People here love vegetarian, vegan, or gluten-free food and are really into healthy stuff like yoga. The population is mostly white. The restaurants are fine, but my friends and I usually drive to Ventura or Oxnard to hang out. The fancy restaurants are better than other places though. Ventura and Oxnard are kind of close from here, like 20~30 minutes away from here. The shops here sell handmade souvenirs; the grocery stores and farmers market only sell organics, so everything in Ojai is slightly more expensive than other cities.
I always love attending the Lavender festival, MLK Day festival the Ojai Day festival. The town always gets together and really gets people involved in the community.
