Oil City was once a booming oil town with strips of mom and pops businesses. As of now, the town still holds the "old, small town feeling" but consists of mostly office jobs with poor economic opportunity. It is a town where everyone knows everyone, but as the years progress, more people become strangers. The community itself has fallen through and has been subjected to people with drug problems, and a rise of violence within the past few years.

Oil city is a historic community based on morality and Christian values. It has seen hard times since the oil boom and
industry has pulled out.
We are a family based community founded on morality, decency and a dash of kindness, which is why we have survived.
We as a community are thankful we know each other. We're not a city but a family. We have endured and have chosen to be quaint, quiet and loving small town.
Oil City is a depressed Pennsylvania industrial town with history dating back to the 1800s. It used to be thriving until the steel industry collapsed in the 1970s, then oil companies started to leave the region and the local economy began its slow downfall. The best time to visit town is during the annual Oil Heritage Festival, which includes a parade.
