Odenton is a diverse area with a variety of recreation and consumer opportunities. With several shopping centers and major cities within a 30 minute commute, the possibilities are endless! I have grown up here and lived in Odenton my entire life, and I am thankful for the opportunities I have been able to take advantage of due to the span of workplaces, wonderful schools, and trails and parks to explore and exercise. Families will be very pleased with the environment, which fosters a welcoming attitude towards its residents.

I like that Odenton is the suburbs because that's the type of living for me personally. It is close to Baltimore, D.C., and other parts of Maryland. And about 1 hour and 30 minutes from Virginia. I like that I feel safe everywhere that I go as a young teenage woman. I like that little kids can live their bikes out on the sidewalks and not having to worry about someone stealing it. I love that the crime rates are very low. Odenton has increasingly gained popularity over the 5 years I have lived here. What I dislike is how there aren't many places to do activities. We have food places for days on end but the best thing to do is go to the plazas around in other towns like Gambrills and Crofton. I wish metro was also available because for people without cars like my coworkers and I, we sometimes struggle to get around and Ubering , etc. is expensive for the salary we make.
I love the community of Piney Orchard specifically, which takes up most of the Odenton area. The crime rate is low and it's encouraging to see families and kids moving about, especially in the warmer months. There's plenty of good, local eateries around, but it's mostly homes and little shopping centers here and there. By far, the best places are Brown Box Eatery and Mamma Romas! Baltimore, D.C., and Annapolis are all about 30 minutes drive time so there's plenty to see on the weekends.
