Oceanside is a very military friendly beach town located at the top of San Diego. Over the last few years they have really improved the city with new activities, restaurants, and shopping. The pier often has events and lots of local fishing with of course beautiful views of the Southern California coastline. Oceanside has one of the few piers left in Southern California and is a great place to walk in the morning and watch the pelicans and fisherman. They have also improved the roads along the coast highway to allow for more people to bike through town and easily get to Carlsbad or even further south. Oceanside has a fun almost quirky vibe that can't be beat! It is a great place to live without the expense of other areas in San Diego County.

I love Oceanside. I grew up in Orange County Mission Viejo, and though I love where I am from, Oceanside has shown me so much of the world I was missing. First and foremost, Oceanside has such an incredible mix of a variety of cultures. From hiphop to surf culture, samoan food and trendy coffee shops, I believe Oside has become more than just a city I moved to but a community I can be apart of. While here, I have learned so much but my favorite has to be, my new love for surfing. I absolutely love the care that this city takes, to preserve and offer beautiful beaches. I absolutely love this city!
No matter where you are in Oceanside you're close to the beach which is always nice. There are a few parts in Oceanside that seem a little sketchy but they're pretty few. Every Thursday we have the Sunset market which is pretty nice and they're trying to fix up the place so downtown Oceanside is starting to attract more businesses, encouraging more nightlife. As a bonus, we have 2 libraries!
