Oakwood is a small suburban town with rural roots. Physical terrain is beautiful with pines and evergreens, hills, and lake and mountain views. Lake Lanier provides multitudes of recreational opportunities. Adjacent Gainesville and Hall county provide access to cultural, artistic, and shopping/dining opportunities normally associated with much larger communities. Only 40 miles north of Atlanta for "big city" atmosphere.
Oakwood is a great place to grow up. It's large enough that you don't know every single person in the town, but still small enough to have good personal relationships. Oakwood would benefit from better public school.
