Even though Oakton is a busy place it's a great place to be around. Everything is close by sometimes walking distance depending where you live, Oakton is like the middle man it's near the majority of places. Even though I moved from Oakton to Herndon, Oakton will be my favorite town plus a have many memories.

Generally the area is very convenient, especially if you attend George Mason University. There's an iHop across the street and a 7-eleven in walking distance. The shuttle that goes straight to campus or the Vienna metro station is also across the street and it only take 10 minutes in either direction as the place is in between the school and the metro station. Overall, you can't beat the area especially if you attend the university.
In 20013 Vienna was ranked third on CNN/Money's list of top 10 best places to live in the U.S.. Vienna has great public schools, a downtown with many small businesses and restaurants, a metro station with large parking garages that provides easy commute to Washington D.C., and a popular biking/walking trail. There are several medium to large business/shopping districts and performing arts and concert venues nearby. Vienna has a highly educated population and there are a lot of volunteers who support kids' sports and other activities.
