Oakridge, like many small rural communities, is lacking in the services and opportunities commonly found in larger cities, and this can contribute to a reduced quality of living for some individuals. However, if a person is content with the slower, less complex pace of small-town living and sincerely enjoys being surrounded by forested wilderness (and perhaps participating in the outdoor activities associated with such), Oakridge can be a peaceful, quiet, and rejuvenating sanctuary to live in.

Oakridge is a beautiful town. It's the mountain bike capitol. Extremely lovely! Very nice people. I've lived here my whole life, and haven't had any real issues with the town, schools, or the people.
Of all the places I have traveled, European countries, islands in the Mediterranean sea, and a number of American states, Oakridge has always been one of, if not my favorite, place to travel to. Ever since I was a child, I have loved the feeling of knowing almost everyone I saw, wether it be a family friend, or one of my mother's friends from highschool. I loved the feeling of seeing a friendly and familiar face everywhere I went. As a child growing up as a "Army Brat", home is hard to pin-point. I have lived in several states, and spent most of my life in Germany. Oakridge has always given me an amazing experience, because living a life with no set place to call home, Oakridge has always felt like home to me, whether I live there or not.
