My husband and I moved to Oakleaf a few months ago, and we love it! The area is pretty, safe, and the town center has everything you need right around the corner! It doesn't have as much in the way of nightlife as other areas, but that keeps it pretty family friendly.
I like how there are many different stores close to where I live. There is a Publix shopping center less than a mile from me. Also I like how convenient the gym and pool are. They are walking distance from my house. People in the community watch out for one another and are very social and Facebook pages. Finally I like the schools here. I attended oakleaf high school. This school helped prepare me for college and also taught me how to live in the real world.
I began living here two years ago and I have enjoyed it. The area is very connected and hosts a lot of events. My neighborhood, Eagle Landing is so involved and connects with one another. This area is very nice and is kept up very well!
The community had held numerous fun filed events and activities in the past to bring the entire community together and to excite every single member of the family no matter the age. This sense of community has been lost in my opinion, this lack of unity translates through the attitude of many residents. There is a growing problem in not addressing drug and mental health related issues in our youth which also makes some residents feel unsafe, this could be targeted and changed within our schools. Overall the community is safe however many improvements could be made to excite and present a more welcoming presence in the neighborhood.
I have lived in Oakleaf Plantation for over 7 years now, since my 6th grade year, and I honestly would not mind living here after college. They have many public schools available for all grades and many parks scattered about the neighborhoods. I know the majority of my neighbors due to them either being classmates, family friends, or teachers so it is a nice community. I feel very safe in Oakleaf and find it extremely easy and affordable to live here. There are also a lot of activities to chose from such as swimming, bowling, seeing a movie, or dining in one of the many restaurants.
Oakleaf is great! There needs to be more police in the area because crime is starting to become more of an issue every year.
Very big subdivision with multiple entrances and two water parks. Many stores for shopping, grocery, hair, etc. around its like its own little town.
HOA are a bunch of power trip filled adults. I'm all for keeping of the community but it's ridiculous some of the most petty things. Home Owners Association not for the home owners. people getting fined $1000.00 dollars for a brown spot, others facing foreclosure because the're house is the wrong color.
I've lived here for 8 years and have loved it. I love that the schools are located in Oakleaf. There are also 2 awesome amenity centers! I have developed many very close relationships going to the schools here. Also shopping is very close and many of my favorite stores are located nearby.
Good cost of living, low crime/safe walking neighbor, clean environment, easy access to everyday needs (ie. libary, grocery store options, general shopping/discount shopping), growing area still lacking in restaurant options (mostly fast food variations available, family, church and military oriented, fairly politically and socially conservative. Other than military and church, there is little else available for senior and single community involvement and activities.
Oakleaf Plantation is an well-to-do middle class/ Suburban neighborhood located in the Jacksonville, Fl area. Surrounded by beautiful family homes, dining and shopping. There's so much entertainment, restaurants and stores on every corner. I do recommend anyone looking to raise a family to settle down in Oakleaf. Just minutes away from orange Park, Fl which contains one of the most popular Northeast FL malls near Jacksonville. Crime is low and schools are great. Because there are so many businesses jobs are always hiring. Don't worry if you're in college because there's a couple options out there like St.Johns river college, FSCJ south Campus, UNF and FCC. Hope to see you around!
Oakleaf is a fast growing, family oriented town with great schools, amenities and stores. Oakleaf continues to grow to have more opportunities for smaller businesses and their families, helping the economy grow.
Oakleaf is a great small community with many amenities. It has good public schools and community center for activities. The downside is the lack of original/unique restaurants. All but two restaurants are a chain of some sort. Commuting is easy to get into Jacksonville.
The availability and variety of restaurants and shopping locations in close distance is great. The neighborhoods are generally well kept and although the regulations can sometimes be a hassle to deal with for families with driving age children (parking cars), it's overall a pleasant place to live.
I liked that it is a pretty place to live in. But I would change law enforcement there because thefts is very common. I can’t order a package without it being stolen and a car has been broken into there.
Oakleaf Plantation is all about their high school and after school activities. Theses could include the yearly carnival, the sports games, art festivals, and much more. There is also a daycare open to all living there and it is almost half of what you would normally pay.
Oakleaf Plantation is a diverse suburban community in Orange Park, Florida. There are many different options when it comes to housing, and a town center with necessary shops and restaurants. The community is well-cared for, and offers a safe and quiet home for its residents.
