I LOVE LOVE LOVE the city of Oakland Park Florida! I am fortunate enough to live in an area that is close to everything, the beach, the airport, multiple grocery stores (Lucky's Market, Whole Food, Publix just to name a few) gas station on every end. I am surrounded by lots of amazing restaurants and bars as well! I love that it is pet-friendly and they also host many fun events for the people who live in the city of Oakland Park! It also fully supports the LGBTQ community which is incredible! Such a great family area, nice houses and wonderful, down to earth people!

Parts of Oakland Park are looking really nice lately. There are still some areas on the west side of Dixie Highway toward I-95 that are a little bit sketchy, but other than that, my experience here has been nice. I prefer the area east of Dixie near the Funky Buddha Brewery. Another interesting thing is across the street from the Funky Buddha is a bar with built-in video game consoles called Barcade, which looks extremely fun to me! I hope to venture over there soon.
Very good neighborhood for families and young couples! There is a healthy mix of day time activities and nightlife fun. There is usually plenty of fairs, farmers markets, art shows and more to entertain people of all ages. The city is clean, but highly populated,so there is a bit of traffic congestion to work around. Otherwise, prices are average for the market, but you can always find a good garage sale!
