Working in Oakland
As with any small town, it takes a while for the residents to warm up to you and you to gain their trust. Most people are very kind and courteous here. The town is VERY dedicated to the schools here, and the schools are VERY dedicated to every student. There are job opportunities, both in town and in surrounding towns. It's fairly easy to find a job with a good standing public record and negative drug test. Most jobs are worth the pay.
Overall an average community. Small town living and a family orientated community. The school system is decent except for the bullying. Cost of living and real estate is defiantly a plus!
The schools are always hiring, it just depends on what your teaching degree is in. The area I live in is very heavily aided towards farmers, so they have more opportunities.
