I am originally from San Francisco and was a little hesitant about living in Oakland at first. But I am totally loving it! The weather is amazing, the people are friendly, diverse and active. There are tons of events, great food scene and nightlife (although since covid it's been a little harder to explore these areas). There is also tons of great outdoors activities, such as hiking in the Joachin Miller park. It's a great mix of city vibes, but chill and laid back at the same time. If you're thinking of moving to the bay area, I highly suggest choosing Oakland!
I was raised in Oakland, Oakland is very known for it's popularity in Alameda County and diversity. Growing up I experienced very good education system attending public schools in elementary. Oakland is a very big city and is accessible to commute to taking public streets whether its International Boulevard or the 580 freeway. Also with commuting around Oakland without car there are alternatives which are public transportation that include AC transit, Bart, Lyft bikes, Scooters, and Uber. Oakland is significantly diverse in culture from beautiful murals in Fruitvale and Downtown Oakland. Oakland is also known for diverse restaurants and amazing nightlife in Downtown Oakland. Oakland is very family friendly orientated especially when attending public places that include Lake Merritt, Downtown Oakland, Piedmont, & Fruitvale.
Oakland is an amazing city known for its diversity, cultural influence, and overall beauty! Come visit and enjoy a multitude of entertainment experiences including the harbor at Jack London Square, the redwoods that line Redwood Regional Preserve, and the hip nightlife scene in bustling downtown Oakland. Oakland has something to offer for all residents and visitors, so come and explore!
