A great place to grow and to live! Glad that I've lived here my whole life, such a beautiful town to grow up in.

It's a nice, small mountain town with low crime. People are very friendly and like to help eachother out, especially during wildfire evacuations, which happen every couple of years.

Oakhurst is a town loved by tourists and locals alike. It is the gateway to one of the world's most beautiful places in the world: Yosemite National Park. There are several local businesses that are supported and thriving. However, I would like to see even more of this town's character shine by lessening the amount of cooperate businesses scattered throughout the town. It is in a prime location and deserves to be loved for more than the typically food chains like Denny's and Mcdonald's. Overall, I am thankful to live in a town where beautiful hiking trails are in my backyard, and and the community is strong.

Oakhurst is a great little community that has potential for growth and opportunities. Settled in the mountains outside of Yosemite National Park, the location is unlike any other, and most people are kind and family oriented.

It's not like people are being robbed and or assaulted as often as an urban area but there is a huge drug and weapons crowd up there that seems to skate under the law simply because it's "accepted" in the area by other civilians and law enforcement.

I love the area because it's where I grew up so you can never replace your home. However, it is a small town and the mentalities of some people and the general feel of the area make it less appealing to a young adult like myself. If I was to return to this area it would most likely be when I'm older. A running joke is that folks move up there "to die" simply because the retirement community is huge. I do feel like it's a great place to raise a family.
