Oakdale is a very quiet neighborhood overall. Most neighbors know each other and keep to themselves. It's right near Lake Elmo which is nice so people can have access to nature reserves as well as drive past a few farms. There is a large population of white people, especially being that it's a suburb, and is right near Stillwater which is a sundown town. A couple of local police also live in this area. There is a large Target as well with a Starbucks Cafe which is near most people who live in the area. There aren't as many shopping Centers, you'd have to go to Tamarack Village in Woodbury for a wider range of eating out and shopping options. It's not too far of a drive from Oakdale. Walking around is relatively okay because there usually aren't too many people out walking. I've been catcalled and approached by some men occasionally when out alone, I think it goes without saying that for me as a Brown Woman that I am just used to having to be cautious anywhere I go alone.
Oakdale is an amazing place to live! There are so many places to shop, eat, and explore right here in the city. I attend Tartan High School, which is also in Oakdale, and I have had such a great experience at Tartan.
Oakdale is a beautiful place to live. It’s a place where you can raise a family, and live in a safe area. The people around this area are very nice and generous. They will help you if any help is needed. And there’s a lot of stores are on this area so you don’t need to drive far.If you have kids it’s a perfect place to raise them because they can play outside and you don’t have to worry about anything happening to them. It’s also a nice place to buy a house because of the safety and security available in this area. If you’re moving from a bigger city I’ll take time to get used to it but overall you end up loving it. And once you get used to an area like this as quiet safe it’s hard to move into a different area. The most important thing about this area is the fact that it’s safe for anyone and mostly for kids to have fun outside and be able to enjoy their childhood. If anyone Wants to buy a house around this area I would recommend you do it. And it will be worth it.
