I grew up here and seven years after moving I still consider it home. One of the best places to raise a family being in a small town with a decent amount to do. Not to mention Greensboro is only half an hour away which has lots to do. Basketball is huge here and the local public school offers every sport for kids to play. I played Softball, basketball, and cheered as a kid here and the town was a whole community through this, a great way to get to know people. There is also a local pool that many people go too. I love this town and highly recommend this as a place to raise a family.

Oak Ridge is a small, family-centered community. There is not much in the actual town, but it is a 20 minute drive to Greensboro, where there is much more to do.
There are not many restaurants and stores here. The main one near me is a Lowe's Foods, along with some small chain restaurants. There is a Domino's, Subway, McDonald's, and Wendy's nearby as well. There aren't very many mom-pop shops, and most of the stores here are either from big companies or small regional companies.
